Free Dental Implants for Lost Teeth

If you are like me who was unfortunate enough to have experienced an accident that resulted in one of my tooth getting knocked out, then I am sure you understand the impact of losing a tooth to your self confidence and self esteem; especially if it happens to one of your front teeth.

To some people, this happening can be a very upsetting and can affect their mental and emotional beings. This is why reconstructive dentists are making a lot of money these days. Vanity is big business.

But the problem with undergoing such reconstructive procedure to give you back your smile is that is quite expensive. You are lucky if money is not an issue to you but for about 95% of the population out there, this is certainly not the case.

In dealing with the loss of tooth or teeth, the first thing you have to know is that you are not alone. In fact, if you search online, you would probably be surprised as to how many people are going through the same thing you are going. They even have forums built to provide support for people having some form of mental break down because of loosing tooth/teeth.

Are dental implants really good solution?

If you are like me then I am pretty sure that you have considered all your options including dental implants.

Dental implants are basically just replacement for your lost tooth/teeth. They are usually made of metal screws that you install in place of your previous pearly whites. They are screwed on the jaw bone where the old tooth/teeth used to be. Then after that a crown that looks a lot like real teeth is installed over the screws.

Dental implants have very good aesthetics and are capable of functioning like real teeth. They are a good option for anyone who has good jaw bone to take the metal implant (usually made of titanium or an titanium alloy) and is said to have a high success rate (about 95%) especially if the implant is to be placed on the lower jaw bone

The free dental implants option

One of the main problems about dental implants is that they are not cheap. You will need to be ready to spend at least $1,500 if you wish to undergo this procedure. It can easily go up.

However, a little online search indicates that there may be a possible scenario that you can actually get dental implants for free! This may come as a little too good to be true for some people. But while I also remain reluctant to believe that this is for real, I also think there may really be ways to get free dental implants. One of the ways is to volunteer for dentists that are in training. A dentist studying to become a reconstructive dentist, also known as a prosthodontist, will need a volunteer subject to practice on sooner or later. If you can find one and are willing to become guinea pig of some sort, then, by all means try this out. Be sure to read the fine print and think about it carefully before signing.

There may be some organizations that are also offering free dental implants to lucky applicants. The main reason for this may be that of charity and that this is accomplished through donor help.

However, there may be times when an offer to provide dental implants for free may indeed be bogus as some unscrupulous dentist take advantage of the fact that these patients are in a state of emotional distress and such they sucker them into thinking that the implants are indeed free and fail to clearly communicate to the patients that there are certain fees that they will need to pay.

Sometimes dentists will offer to provide free dental implants on their advertisements but would charge you higher for the other aspects of the procedure. Remember, getting that implant in there is not the end of it. You will also need to pay for medicines, dentures, veneers, etc and this may not be clear in the agreement. Always be sure to read the fine print before agreeing with any dentist. If it is too good to be true, it usually is.
